I dont know if there back yet, but it seems like they have been gone for a couple weeks now, and i think that they usually go on break for about 6 weeks or so to do whatever.
Good to know, as I was not aware that it was closed.
Taking a well-deserved vacay til May, says da coconut wireless
Its a local business, I recommend you to go there to taste fresh products
They have weird hours... Good luck!
Fantastic doughnuts!!! Even brought some home.
no, closed from mid sept until oct 2 (2018)
they open again oct 2, 2018
Got here right after opening for fresh stick donuts! I heard they tend to sell out. The store really has a no-frills, local feel to it. You also don't feel like you're being ripped off, as the prices are very reasonable. The stick donut was one of the best damn things I'd ever tasted. Would have loved to try other things but perhaps next time. There really isn't a reason to give this place any less than 5 stars. The service was friendly, and everything about the store met my expectations.
Pastries are pretty amazing, the rolls we munched on for days as we picnicked across the island. The store is lost in time, things haven’t moved in what feels like generations. Be patient and prepare to arrive early and wait in line.
So good! Get there early or be prepared to see an empty display case
The donut sticks are AMAZING! Store looks like it’s stuck in the 80’s but don’t let the decor scare you off. It’ll be well worth it!
Awesome local donuts and malasadas!Come early for best selection, but still some left at closing.Weekend has more limited baking, e.g. no sprinkle sticks.Recommend (best) the guava malasadas, donut sticks, and coconut danish. Strawberry Filled Donut had real strawberries inside (great filling). It was GREAT and it kept till the next morning. We will definitely be back here when returning to Maui!
THE most amazing bakery in the island! We tried a few of their goods and would go back for all of them! The malasadas, cream puffs, turnovers and donuts where just amazing!A great stop for snacks for the road to Hana, or just to have around the place while you’re in Maui. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re on the island.
Awesome pastries! A must to visit. We try to make a trip once a week for a special treat.
I like the fact that it's a local family owned place, and the things they sell are actually quite good and relatively cheap. I didn't care for the fact that the interior of the shop hasn't really been taken care of and has a ton of junk everywhere. I think they could give a little attention to straightening everything out and cleaning the place up and youd have a pretty charming little bakery in a charming little town.
The place to go if you need donuts or pastries on your way to Halaekala. Nice folks running the store and you can also pick up some random convenient store type items if you need them. Check out the rest of the quaint stretch of stores when you are done.
Go early to get the best shot at Komoda’s selection of local pastry favorites. If you visit around lunch time, most of the pastries will likely be gone. The stick donuts, cream puffs, long johns, and butter rolls are some of our favorites. The chantilly cakes are also great.
Great donuts, not very friendly. If you need a bathroom while there, go across the street and there is a bathroom available to the public.
The bakery has been the source of many smiles over my life. Donut on a stick is my donut of choice. The dough is rich, and always delicious. All the pastries are great, butter rolls and buns exceptional.
Pretty good, unique donuts! Not the best if you like chocolate donuts, but these were pretty yummy, and good quality! Great place for locals too.
Homemade pastries, Hawaiian style. This is an historic bakery owned and operated by the same family for generations. You just gotta go (enough said). Just be sure to get there early and catch them before they sell out and close their doors.
Deliciousness pastry: cream puff, cocoa puff and also other's butter bread, donuts and long johns.
An old favorite. Coming back after 5 years. Still draws me back with their fresh donuts. Love the cream filled donuts and coconut Danish.
Was first in line! Make sure you get there at least half hour before they open(7). Got their cream puffs they are famous for. Worth the wait for sure!!!
This bakery just celebrated 100 years. You can't mess with quality. Fast service that treats you like family!
This is one of the oldest buildings on the entire island. And this place is basically just a mess, no ac, debris every in the back seating area or something, weird low lighting, and the people that work there have zero happiness happening when you go to order something. It is so strange. But the pastries are to die for. I would love to return to buy more pastry delicacies.
Cute walk through the memory lane. The store showed a lot of the family history of the Komoda family so it's great that the store is still in the family. We tried about four of their donuts, cream puffs and malasada and they were quite soft and fluffy. Couldn't finish them all in one go so we kept some for the next day and they were not hard.
Best glazed donuts and baked goods on the island! We get the dinner rolls for every occasion. Make sure you bring cash if you are only getting a few things.
The greatest little bakery on Maui! Don't bother with the rest of the store, it's a sad display of forgotten items, expired goods, and a and dubious hot dog warmer. What you're here for is endless doughnuts and baked sweets of all kinds.Mind the $10 credit card minimum, or pay with cash.
Renowned for bakery items. Will close early if they run out. Ladies who greet (to assure Covid compliance) and serve are all business, no warmth. Meager grocery items - much better shopping for these down a half block and across the street on Baldwin
Great bakery but it doesn't look like much from the outside and it's a bit chaotic on the inside. The long John's are full of creamy custard and the malsados on a stick are excellent in both glazed and cinnamon and sugar. Be careful, they will fill you up so you might want to eat dinner first, unless donuts are your dinner which is something you should consider.
Great butter rolls, doughnut holes, and other goodies. Worth the COVID wait line.
